Most of my college scholarships have been awarded to me internally through Binghamton. By that I mean, instead of Coca-Cola, NY Times, and National Scholarships like that, I have received numerous aid from my school! The best advice I have on winning college scholarships is to one, check and read your college email every day, and two, apply to as many scholarships as your school offers. My school literally blasts us (Binghamton students) with emails filled with opportunities, internships and scholarships every day. With being swarmed in schoolwork, I often feel like I am too drowning in the amount of emails I receive daily. Not to fear! I always write down, or star (*) the important emails (with scholarships and stuff) so that I remember to check back and to apply for them later. I definitely recommend doing the same
Being that we are going to Medical School soon, I want you guys to keep in mind how much money you are saving when applying to these scholarships now! So, when you go back to school, definelty stop by your Financial Aid Office, or check their websites, and your emails for scholarships.
P.S. I received a lot of memorial scholarships from my school, so ask about those!
Also, I am a JFEW-SUNY International Relations and Global Affairs Program Scholar. JFEW (Jewish Foundation for Education of Women) is providing me not only with immense financial assistance, but with professional development skills, a secured summer internship, and heightened awareness in the field of International Relations and Global Affairs. It is a two-year program, and a scholarship awarded to Juniors! See if your school offers this scholarship program, and I definitely recommend applying!
