If you receive Financial Aid in College (via. FAFSA app), then I definitely recommend applying to AAMC's Fee Assistance Program (FAP). It's basically a FAFSA for Med School! I applied for FAP in July 2015, and found out two days later that I was awarded financial assistance. The benefits of FAP are:
1. Waiver for all AMCAS fees for one (1) application submission with up to 15 medical school designations ($664 value), submitted by December 31, 2016. 2. Complimentary access to the Medical School Admission Requirements website until December 31, 2016 ($50 value) 3. Reduced registration fees in testing year 2015, from $300 to $115, for MCAT exams until December 31, 2016 (over $700 value). 4. The Official Guide to the MCAT® (MCAT2015) Exam, Fourth Edition and other official MCAT practice products. So, apply as soon as possible! I applied 1 year before I plan on applying for Med School for obvious reasons, such as funds running out, and being able to plan in advance what schools I want to apply to by using FAP's comprehensive list of Medical Colleges and their requirements. And plus the FAP benefits are good for a year and change, so why not! :) Let me know if you guys have any questions! Credit: https://www.aamc.org/students/applying/fap/ |
